US Votes in Favor of Watered-Down Measure; Syria Retains Seat on U.N. Human Rights Panel

UNESCO’s executive board Thursday passed by a 35-8 vote a resolution that condemned Syria but sidestepped the issue of its membership of its human rights panel.
